ARM-based module is ready for LinuxThe M-501 is an ARM9-based Linux-ready system on module in a small 80 x 50mm form factor.New from Artila Electronics, the M-501 is an ARM9-based Linux-ready system on module (SoM) in a small 80 x 50mm form factor. The M-501, powered by a 180MHz Atmel AT91RM9200 RISC SoC, comes with 32Mbyte SDRAM onboard and 16Mbyte of Flash memory that has the Linux 2.6 kernel, BusyBox utility collection, boa web server and various hardware device drivers pre-installed. The module has two 2x25 dual inline connectors for I/O peripheral expansion, providing: 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet, four ports of UART serial communication, two USB 2.0 hosts, a Secure Data card (SD) interface, a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), Inter-IC (I2C) bus, an Inter-IC Sound (I2S) bus, and a 32bit programmable digital I/O port.In addition, an 8bit local bus is also available on a third 2x14 DIL connector for custom peripheral expansion. The Gnu C/C++ cross compiler is included in the development kit CD, allowing users to develop their application software on a PC without having to learn more or purchase extra commercial developing tools. |
