Automotive system gains exclusive distribution

Lectronix has signed Pana Pacific as the exclusive distribution partner of its new driver information system for the heavy duty and commercial trucking industry. Pana Pacific will offer the Lectronix Navion T7000 to trucking dealers, fleet operators, and OEMs through the extensive Pana Pacific distribution and service network. Pana Pacific, a subsidiary of the Brix Group, is the nation's leading supplier of mobile electronics, providing audio, speaker, DVD video, navigation, and radio systems for the OEM truck industry, including Peterbilt, Mack, Kenworth, Freightliner, Western Star, Sterling, and Volvo trucks.

The Navion T7000 integrates voice, video and data communications into a modular system designed to provide key safety features and reduce costs in heavy truck, public transit, and recreational vehicles.

The Navion T7000 offers support for technologies that enhance safety and security including Bluetooth hands free phone support, a camera display system for monitoring key blind spots at the sides and rear of the truck, an advanced engine/vehicle/trip monitor, and a complete tire pressure monitoring system.

Other features include enhanced audio options including AM/FM/WB radio, CD/MP3 player, USB/iPod-based digital audio, and support for optional satellite radio.

The integrated navigation with speech output can help facilitate safe, legal, and efficient routing of restricted vehicles, provide more accurate arrival time estimates, and minimise costs due to lost or delayed vehicles.

The Navion T7000 replaces up to seven separate systems previously needed for the same feature list.

In addition to solutions for the commercial trucking market, Lectronix has also developed a driver information platform for the recreational vehicles market.

Each of these solutions is built on the Lectronix flagship product - the A-Frame software framework.

The AFrame technology uses an innovative client-server model, where core functionality is implemented in middleware 'servers' that encapsulate and isolate the integrated technology.

This modular approach allows AFrame to easily integrate and support a range of vehicle systems ranging from information and communications to entertainment.
