COM Express module keeps power downFor applications in which low power consumption is of high importance, MSC Vertriebs has developed the CXB-CD945 COM Express module based on the Intel Celeron M-Processor ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) 423. The processor features a low power dissipation of just 5.5W (thermal design power) at a clock frequency of 1.06GHz. The CXB-CD945 COM Express module incorporates optional security functions allowing only the customer-owned user software (IP) to be executed on the module. To achieve this innovative capability, the Trusted Core BIOS by Phoenix Technologies is implemented on the module, in addition to the TPM-Chip (Trusted Platform Module) from Infineon. Thanks to the Mobile Intel-Chipset 945GM available on the board, the CXB-CD945 COM Express module offers excellent 3D graphic characteristics. The graphics media accelerator uses a video RAM with a maximum capacity of 224Mbyte at a bandwidth up to 10Gbyte/s and supports dual-display solutions. Main memory can be increased up to 2Gbyte by inserting fast DDR2-RAM modules. For fast data transfer, a PCI Express x 16 interface and four PCI-Express x1 interfaces are provided on the small COM Express module measuring only 125 x 95mm. In addition, eight USB 2.0 ports are available for communication with peripheral systems. Choosing the optional Intel 82573 gigabit LAN controller provides a fast 10/100 1000Base-TX LAN network connection. Storage of large amounts of data is possible using the two SATA II connections. |
