Embedded controller enhancements on show

Micro-Robotics will demonstrate enhancements to its VM-1 embedded controller and introduce a new extended version of this popular credit-card-sized control computer on Stand O13 at the Southern Electronics exhibition. Also on show will be a range of memory cards, application boards, industrial I/O interface cards and graphical user interfaces. Recent enhancements to this popular controller include CAN protocol, IDE software and a new memory card interface while the new extended version is known as the VM-1e.

Designed to provide extra application capacity, the VM-1e has an increased maximum application code size from 192 to 512Kbyte.

Although few users reach the original limit of 192Kbyte the development of VM-1e is in recognition that customer expectations of software-powered products are constantly growing and engineers prefer to design with spare capacity whenever possible.

The Southern Electronics exhibition will be held at Thorpe Park on 7th and 8th February 2007.
