Compact SBC is first with VIA V4

Axiomtek is pleased to launch the SBC84700, a low-power-consumption 3.5in embedded SBC, which supports VIA V4 compliant processors, dual fast Ethernet and SATA-150. This fanless embedded board is equipped with the latest VIA CN700 North Bridge core logic controller with integrated graphics and features DualView (LVDS LCD and CRT display) capability. The SBC84700 is the first such compact-size SBC to support the new VIA V4 processor family and is fully optimised to provide an outstanding embedded computing platform.

The SBC84700 features the VIA CN700 chipset which has a VIA Graphics UniChrome Pro IGP graphics core and features the Chromotion CE video display engine with hardware MPEG-2 playback.

Together, with an advanced 2D/3D graphics core, the VIA CN700 offers exceptional playback and streaming of various digital video formats while maintaining ultra low power consumption and exerting minimal load on the processor.

Additionally, Axiomtek's SBC84700, combined with the VIA VT8237R Plus South Bridge, offers the performance, reliability and great value of Serial ATA through the advanced VIA DriveStation controller suite, with its user-friendly interface that allows customers to hot swap Serial ATA hard drives.

This 3.5in embedded SBC supports DDR2 memory technology to lower power consumption and generate less thermal issue for improving system reliability together with VIA V4 (Eden and C7) architecture processors.

With the most up-to-date DDR2 memory, the SBC gives customers the best total cost of ownership compared with SDRAM-based embedded SBCs.

It supports up to 1Gbyte of high bandwidth DDR2 533 memory and features robust shared memory architecture, delivering a highly advanced solution for developers interested in designing a wide range of powerful embedded devices.

The onboard Mini PCI type-III socket provides wireless communication expansion possibilities and the board also features many compliant modules like multiple COM ports, IEEE1394, storage modules, and more.

As the SBC84700 provides rich I/O features with a low profile expansion interface, it is highly suitable for IP-based embedded applications.

Other rich I/O features, including dual Fast Ethernet (10/100Mbit/s), CompactFlash Type II socket, four USB 2.0 ports, AC97 codec audio, SATA-150, watchdog timer, SMBus and digital I/O, maximise the customer's business opportunities to adopt the board into various applications.
