XScale-based board runs Windows CE 5.0e-con Systems announces the availability of Windows CE 5.0 on Sirius. The Sirius platform runs Windows CE 5.0 and features a 3.5in LCD with touch screen and includes a range of I/O and expansion slot including SD/MMC slots, USB host and client, 10/100 Ethernet, Bluetooth and audio in/out. For storage the platform consists of 8Gbit of NAND Flash and provides file system support on the same on Windows CE.Among other things the platform has an expansion bus connector through which customer specific application modules can be plugged in. e-con foresees that the Windows CE platform can ease the time to market for products like Kiosks, handheld billing terminals, video on demand terminals and industrial applications. Sirius is a reference platform designed to cater various requirements such as handheld data logging/cash transaction terminals, video conferencing terminals, video streaming nodes, portable media players, surveillance terminals and information kiosks etc. This board is designed around Intel XScale PXA270 processor running at 520MHz and is powered by Linux 2.6 and Windows CE 5.0. |
