XScale module saves power for multimedia

New from Aaeon, the GENE-1270B is a cost-effective low-power-consumption RISC CPU module based on the Intel XScale PXA270. The module has two COM ports (one RS232, one RS232/485), four USB 1.1 hosts, one USB 1.1 client and digital I/O to connect and control the peripheral devices. CF and SDIO slots provide external expansion.

The CPU can be clocked up to 520MHz for top performance.

In addition, the GENE-1270B comes with the Intel 2700G display companion chipset to provide MPEG2/4 video decoding and 2D/3D acceleration.

Although the Intel PXA270 has the same kernel as the Intel PXA250, the PXA270 has been improved to reduce power consumption and with expanded multimedia support.

The power-saving function helps the GENE-1270B to run rich multimedia applications, making it ideal for vehicle PC and mobile device markets.
