The most important feature of the EPIC board is that all locations of connectors are specified, which means it is a standard form factor.
Designers can easily upgrade the board if they have further performance requirements in the future.

The AR-B5230 is also a small form factor board but with multiple connectors on the board edge.

This can help reduce cable routing, resulting in a smaller overall system.

The board uses the Intel 915GME chipset allowing the addition of economical DDRII memory, SATA interface HDDs, and the cost-effective CPUs.
